Description
On the dome ship she is assigned to, Lixazillth falls in love with a clydesdale-sized male Andalite named Jeodayn (for short) who is the living representation of a gentle giant. Jeodayn prefers not to fight, but once engaged, he never loses. The two feel a mutal bond, but because they are both "males," Jeodayn, at least, assumes it is purely brotherly love. Lixazillth knows otherwise and lives in constant yearning to be with Jeodayn.
Because her male morph is small in stature, Lixazillth becomes a pilot, while Jeodayn is part of the ground troops. Their dome ship is soon called in to help battle on the taxxon home world, where Jeodayn is fatally wounded. Lixazillth lands her small fighter next to his dying body (after shooting up the taxxons that would have gladly eaten him) and, realizing that Jeodayn is going to die, confesses her undying devotion to him and her true identity. Their love is realized at last. As his last request, Jeodayn asks her to aquire his genes and to live on in his stead, becoming the great warrior of her dreams. She solemly pledges her word and then leaves his body for the taxxons, who will easily destroy all evidence that the real Jeodayn no longer exists.
In the end, Lixazillth does become a great hero, and when the great war is over, proclaims the truth of her gender to her people. Lixazillth's rash actions usher in a new age of equality for male and female Andalites.
